The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, especially Dr. Thomas Hogan, and to Greg Plivelich, nephew, and Mike Nagy, a long-time friend of Val's. He was proud of the fact that that he was able to travel through or lived in 48 states and 16 countries worldwide during his lifetime. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Dr. Joseph Blankenship to either the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation S. Tamiami Trail Ste 320 PMB 226 Estero, FL or to the Fairmont State Foundation at 1300 Locust Ave.

He lived happily with his wife and best friend Judy for 49 years. Joseph was fiercely proud of his children and in turn his grandchildren. His family was his priority, and he made sure no one ever went without anything they needed or wanted even if it cost him his own comfort. We are a full service funeral home respectfully dedicated to serving all faiths, offering traditional services, memorial services, cremation services, monument sales, and advanced funeral planning. He was educated in Marion County schools, having graduated from West Fairmont High School, Class of 1958. At the age of 19, he moved to Elkins, WV, and worked as a cabinet maker for Metal Labcraft Co., a company that builds cabinets for hospitals.

Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Elizabeth McDonough of Fairmont, West Virginia, who passed away at the age of 81, on December 19, 2022.
